MarkingsWatermark of a large jester's head along right edge, center with a second "V" shaped watermark on the opposite side near the cows neck.
DescriptionIn a treed, rocky landscape a male figure holding a sword in both hands over the seated, sleeping body of a larger, bearded figure. The horned front quarter of a cow standing at the left, the front half of a barking dog in the lower right. Representing Mercury slaying Argus who is protecting Io in the guise of a heifer (see Notes)First state of two.
