MarkingsCypher of artist's intials "AW" in a circle in lower center right is more than 1 1/4" in diameter and has become part of the design.
Printed label on back: "LIDO GALLERIES/28 CURLEYST. LONG BEACH, N.Y./PHONES: GE. 1-4013, GE .2-2334." [Removed to mylar sleeve and placed in object file before 7/17/09.] Long Beach NY is on the south side of the west end of Long Island.
DescriptionEntwined, overlapping tapered leaf-like shapes, arcing around a central thin vertical triangle. the whole creating a sense of movement and repetition related to dance and that may be associated with Walkowitz's interest in the dancer Isadora Duncan which began ca. 1907. The artist's large cypher "W" in a circle, at the bottom center right, is part of the overall design.
