DescriptionSeated half-length, 3/4 view, portrait of the artist Henry Ossawa Tanner. Tanner was one of Eakins's students at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts who spent most of his career as an expatriate artist in France, largely devoting himself to religious subjects.Exhibition History"Panama-Pacific Exposition," San Francisco, CA, 1915.
