DescriptionPortrait of an elderly woman, seated, 3/4 view, facing left. She wears black with a white lace jabot-like accent that is probably the collar and front embellishment on her dress, a little lace appears at her left wrist, as well. Her hair is worn up and is held by a black bonnet with long ribbbons, the one visible on her right side goes behind her ear. The ribbons are gathered in a large bow at her neck and drape over the fall of lace. The stile and top slat of a chair are visible over her left shoulder and appear to be of a very plain type.Exhibition History"Exhibition of Paintings by George Bellows", no. 16, M.
