DescriptionA full-length, profile view of a barefoot figure of a walking woman with brown skin and dark hair. She wears a white dress that comes nearly to her ankles. Striding to the right, she leans forward into the weight of a heavy basket carried on her back by means of a blue cloth sling that wraps around the basket and over her right shoulder. In her right hand she carries another basket with a handle. The contents of the baskets are covered with a while cloth, or that is their content. The figure of a laborer is a typical Rivera image and many have been used in his large murals of Mexican life and history. Charcoal outlines the figure and accents the gathers of her skirt.- Modern and Contemporary Art
