DescriptionBlue velvet bonnet en suite with the child's coat, 1995.17.34. Velvet exterior with sides and top extending well beyond the face sides and forehead. Lined with lighter blue silk heavily gathered and with two rows of ruching, the heaver, outer row outlining the bonnet perimeter and framing the face. A wide, pleated band of this same silk is sewn over the top of the bonnet and extends into two long silk ties that have 3 narrow pleats across the width at the end that ties under the chin. A large silk rosette of softly tied bows is sewn on the right side of the bonnet over the silk band with a second, smaller rosette on the left.
