DescriptionGeometric forms on a pink ground. Pink tissue chine applique creates a transparent, pink ground with fine, long, thin grain, possible a rice paper. There are very lightly printed "ghost" lines that appear to be faded into the background and at first almost look to have been erased from the original plate. Under magnification these lines appear to have been made with a roulette wheel used in mezzotint. These ghost lines connect with the darker, engraved lines and change the seemingly simple linear image to a far more complex, dimensional one.Exhibition History"Dorothy Dehner at the Hyde", Hoopes Gallery, The Hyde Collection, January 27, 2013 - April 14, 2013."Women Modernists".
