DescriptionBlue velveteen child's winter coat with long full sleeves heavily gathered at shoulder and cuff, the latter edged with the same pale blue wool that lines the coat. High-waisted, yoked bodice over full, gathered A-line skirt. The front is asymmetrical with the right panel about 2/3rds the width and "double-breasted." Two large buttons are embroidered with a four lobed abstracted floral design and sewn at the lower edge of the bodice. These are purely decorative, the front actually closes with two metal hooks that are sewn inside and would have caught on thread loops (both now torn). Lined with pale blue wool with white plain weave wool interlining. En suite with a bonnet of the same velvet, 1995.17.63 that is labeled Liberty & Co.
