SignedSigned in pencil lower left center under the figure's right foot, in a mix of cursive writing and printing: "Max Weber". Also signed in the plate, bottom center under figure's left foot, "MAX WEBER" all in printed capital letters.
MarkingsStamp in black ink on frame backing paper: "MILLER ART & FRAME/THE PILLARS 84 MAIN ST./WARRENSBURG, NY 12885/(518) 623-3966. And to the left of this a cypher of the conjoined letters MAF [Miller Art & Frame]
A label on blue paper glued to the frame backing paper. Printed and typed: in large cursive font the heading "Certificate of Authenticity"/ This is to certify tht the work of art described below was acquired from Associated American Artists, and is guaranteed to be an original print." Below this three lines with printed headings followed by typed in information. The first line is "Title...FRENCH MODEL", the second line is "Artist: Max Weber" and the third line is "Medium: Lithograph" on this same line is typed "Estate #43". Typed on two lines below this "Pencil signed by the aritst and Estate/Stamp on verso." Printed to the left below this is a logo with three stylized "A"s forming a triange with a large block letter A next to it and "Registered No. 7446 by AUTHORIZED SIGNATURE". Above these last two words is a signature in pen that appears to be "Edna A(?)yanco (?).
Appears from fading and staining that this was removed from the back of a previous frame and readhered to this newer one.
