Signed"JOHN ROGERS/NEW YORK" intaglio printed in sans serif capital letters on the top of the base by the left foot of the figure on the right
Inscribed"CAMP LIFE./THE CARD PLAYERS" intaglio printed on the front face of the base. In pencil script in what appears to be 19th century handwriting "Henry C-i(?)t(?)" written on the underside of the base, under the back of the figure at left.
In modern pencil "133" is crossed out and "134" written on back face of base over patent marking. Lubus appraisal records that this piece as in Box 134.
Markings"PATENTED APRIL 1 1862." intaglio printed on the back face of the base.
