DescriptionEn suite with 3 others in the "Green Chateau" series (Hyde Murray collection, 1992.1.4, and 1995.10.10 and 2010. 5.5). The four prints were made with a single zinc plate drawn in part with green fingerprint dots made with the artist's hand. These are denser in the upper half of the image and form a green diagonal swathe there. The lower portion of the rectangle has an open area with an irregular organic shape outlined in the lower right. There is a more solid green 'figure' on the left side--an abstract peanut-like shape with two 'legs.'The gouache on Green Chateau III is described in the catalogue raisonné as pink but in the Murray group it is closer to a the red-orange of Chateau IV, which the catalogue raisonné describes as red.
