Signedon the underside of the base in black marking pen, block printed upper and lower case "T. Pardon"
Inscribed"Boy Called Boy" inscribed in the metal on the inside of the neck. On the underside of the base in black marking pen, there is an arrow pointing to one side and "BLUE" written below it to indicate that the side of the figure that has a predominantly blue ground should face in that direction; the opposite side has "BLACK" and an arrow for the same purpose. Also written on the base is BOY CALLED BOY/T.Pardon/1999"
MarkingsAn applied silver hallmark 'plaque' with the artist's name, marked sterling on the inside near the bottom of one of the 'legs'
DescriptionIn two parts, the upper, and main, figural element has a round tenon extending from each of the two legs and these mortise into the ebony plinth atop the padouk base. This is a loose fit and should have tacky wax when exhibited. The ground color medium on the figure, black on the primary side (per artist) and blue on the opposite, is unfired vitreous enamel, The bright colors are described by the artist as pigment. The black tongue is enamel paint on metal. The black neck rings are glass.
