SignedOn reverse of board, along the center of the upper edge, over the paper tape that held it in the frame originally "Berresford" in large printed letters in heavy black ink. Probably written by the artist, it resembles the way she signed with printed block letters on the "Floral Still LIfe" in the collection (1991.2.2) which is signed on the LR recto.

InscribedAll on verso: LL quadrant, in thick black crayon or colored pencil (?), cursive, upper and lower case "Property of F. Corninshield;" LL below the above inscription a printed paper label, black sans serif font on white, "FROM/THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART/ 730 FIFTH AVE NEW YORK/ TO: (the following handwritten in black ink, upper and lower case cursive on pinted lines: "Frank Crowninshield/ 333 East 68th St/ NYC" and below this printed "MUSEUM NO." followed by handwritten in same ink as above "30.327(49)". In the UR there is also an old pre-glued label with red borders, only the lower section remains with an ink inscription that may have said "New York".
